Coat of Arms from .png to .svg
- Request
- Hi! I would be very grateful if someone could turn this image from the current .png to a scalable .svg. It doesn't need to have the shiney bits, if this causes too much trouble to anyone. Although this image would only be for an article in the Spanish Wiki, I intend to start just now one in the English Wiki as well. --Cantabrucu (talk) 13:01, 1 July 2016 (UTC)

Figures and Diagrams for the UK Traffic Signs Manual.
Category:Traffic Signs Manual (UK) (Chapter 3)
- Article(s)
- s:Traffic_Signs_Manual
- s:Index:UK Traffic Signs Manual - Chapter 3 Regulatory Signs. 2008 (Second Impression 2008).pdf
- Request
- This is a big ask, and may need it's own Wikiproject, Thanks to a request I put into the Department of Transport I was able to get a set of EPS files, being the figures in the Traffic Signs Manual. These are very slowly being uploaded to the category mentioned. However, the EPS->SVG conversion isn't perfect, and some rendering fixes had to be applied, which is why it is taking time to get the full set uploaded.
- I am in need of some more experienced graphists famiar with EPS and SVG to help review and quality control the files uploaded so far.
- Some problems I've personally identified so far are :
- Border elements that have been recombined from single EPS path elements.
- Unclosed paths.
- Font substitutions (for Commmons/Wikisource rendering issues.)
- There is only so much a single volunteer can do, and I would appreciate this being a community effort.
- Update - Having to restart owing to some font rendering issues.ShakespeareFan00 (talk) 00:39, 9 February 2016 (UTC)

- There's some [information at the manufacturer's information page]. Reading between the lines of the request, it sounds like the pictures on this page would be re-created for Commons.

Logo for the project Connected Open Heritage
-
Building in the Wikimedia colors-AlphaZeta
-
Stylized column capital -AlphaZeta
-
Same with more prmoninent colors -AlphaZeta
-
Two hands protecting a building -AlphaZeta
- Context
- Wikimedia Sverige's project Connected Open Heritage (COH) aims to bring cultural heritage data onto Wikidata, and images of cultural heritage onto Wikimedia Commons. We especially focus on cultural heritage that is at risk globally. The logo will be used in brochures, on roll-ups, on templates on Commons and on project pages on different wikis. Read more about the project.
- Request
- Create a visually pleasing representation of the project name Connected Open Heritage with a CC0 license so that it easily can be used to promote the project. Preferably in svg so that it easily can be scaled for various use. (We do not mind getting alternatives from different wikigraphists to choose from.) --John Andersson (WMSE) (talk) 14:22, 28 April 2016 (UTC)

- I have now submitted four logo ideas above. Hope there is something you can use. If you want any alternative versions or changes dont heitate to contact me. AlphaZeta (talk) 22:01, 18 May 2016 (UTC)

- Hi! Sorry for the extremely late reply. I was sure that I had written here already! These are some lovely logotypes both of you have created! With so many great possibilities I would love to take the opportunities to organize a open vote for all interested to have a say. I will look at that in a week or so when some reports I am working on are finalized. If anyone feel inspired, please add your suggestion as well. Again, thank you both! Update Western Australia population growth graph
-
Population of Western Australia from 1829 to 2008
Article(s): en:Western Australia, en:History of Western Australia
- Request
- The graph could use an update (data here), but even more so it needs a re-scaling: populations grow exponentially, which means the vertical axis needs a logarithmic scale. --Bender235 (talk) 20:55, 10 July 2016 (UTC)
- Graphist opinion(s)
@Bender235: I can convert it into svg and update it so it's easier to edit in the future.
- But on the data link you provided I can't find the data. I want the data very easy to access, year-population. If you can't link me to data like that then please add it here and ping me then I will do this, thanks. --Goran tek-en (talk) 17:31, 31 August 2016 (UTC)
- @Goran tek-en: ; I didn't make this graph, but from the source indicated I assume you should use this Excel file, sheet 2 ("Table 1.1"). The 33rd row has the total population of Western Australia for each year from 1829 to 2010. Maybe Glen Dillon can confirm whether this is the data he originally used. --Bender235 (talk) 18:47, 31 August 2016 (UTC)
- I will check that excel file. I hope you understand that we graphic workers do just that. We very seldom have any knowledge on the subject so we need that kind of base information presented for us in a simple way, then we do the rest, thanks. --Goran tek-en (talk) 18:56, 31 August 2016 (UTC)
- That's perfectly fine. I appreciate your work on this. --Bender235 (talk) 00:19, 1 September 2016 (UTC)

Graphist opinion(s):
Hi @Markov, unfortunately the terms in French are too long in number of letters as well in terms of typesetting. That would be not different in German, but I omitted to the words „epoch“ and „era“ in my translation. If that is just as acceptable to the French version, I would be glad to provide the appropriate edit. Regards, MagentaGreen (talk) 14:13, 7 August 2016 (UTC)
- Hi, MagentaGreen, really nice work for the german version ! Is it possible, in french, to :
- keep "ÈRE "
- omit "PÉRIODE DU " or "PÉRIODE DE L'"
- keep "Époque " ?
- In German, you wrote NEOGEN instead of KARBON (on -359 line), should omit -318, and you forgot Paläozän and Eozän (on the right)

- With the regional coordinator of Wikimedia Italy (User:Kaspo) we are reorganizing the network of users living in (or interested in) Tuscany and working on different platforms and I think it would be nice to have a barnstar to give them because some of them did a great work so far. Nothing elaborate, and if I may without the modern post-1975 "pegasus flag" which is IMHO "lame", but as you like it... I am also not a fan of a specific monument like the duomo of Florence or the tower in Pisa as a central image, but again that's just my opinion. No hurry, of course, that's just something nice to have soon or later. I am just not good in designing barnstars. Thanks in advance.--Alexmar983 (talk) 15:53, 20 August 2016 (UTC)
