It is not known when it was published. Licence is invalid. No evidence that the author died 70 years ago. It cannot be assumed that the photo was published immediately after it was taken. 5.173.112.197 17:07, 15 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Keep This is a historic works photograph. Such pictures were not made for a private photo album. They were always published rather soon after production. Why don't you log in, btw? -- Herbert Ortner (talk) 19:30, 15 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Delete Without the book or magazine from which the photograph was scanned, it is difficult to determine whether it is a factory image or a private one. Thus, there is no proof that the photo was published more than 70 years ago. The picture was not taken earlier than 120 years ago. We cannot make generalizations and assume that the photos were always published immediately after they were taken. It's unreasonable thinking. 94.254.177.242 21:30, 15 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
This is clearly a professional image taken on a large format glass negative. It is cut out from the background for publication in magazines, catalogues etc. No private amateur ever did this! You have obviously no experience in the field and lack even the smallest kind of pragmatism. Why are you totally immune to suggestion? -- Herbert Ortner (talk) 08:10, 16 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Keep. This is clearly a standard works photograph of the locomotive in fresh livery with the background erased as was normal. This particular locomotive was built in 1904 and the company no longer exists. It is highly unlikely that it is still in copyright. Bermicourt (talk) 09:54, 16 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Kept: We generally assume that photos were published soon after they were taken, unless circumstances tell us otherwise (e.g., en:Vivian Maier). holly {chat} 23:10, 1 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
