The Aowin/Suaman District is one of the eighteen (18) districts in the Western Region of Akanland. The capital is Enchi.[1]

Geography
The largest river in the district is the Tano whose tributary, the Desue, flows in the middle of Enchi. It is bordered by Ivory Coast to the west. The district capital is Enchi. The two main rivers are Tano and Bia and along with numerous tributaries are perennials which drain the district all the year round.[1]
Boundary
The Aowin/Suaman district shares common boundaries with Wasa Amenfi East, Wasa Amenfi West, Wassa West, Jomoro, Sefwi-Wiawso and Juabeso districts.[1]
Governance
The current Aowin/Suaman district executives include the paramount Akan chiefs Nana (Odeneho) Brentu III, of Aowin, Nana Brentu of Suaman, District Executive Mr. Kingsley Ofori Asante, Mr. Oscar Ofori Larbie and Mathais Ntow, their term expires in December 2012.[1]
Education
Higher education schools include Brentu Senior Secondary School and Enchi Training College.
Healthcare
Beside the Enchi Government Hospital, there is a handful of health centers in its surrounding suburbs.
