Between Jerusalem and Rome
On 31 August 2017, representatives of the Conference of European Rabbis, the Rabbinical Council of America, and the Commission of the Chief Rabbinate of Israel issued and presenteda thestatement Holywhich See with a statementthey entitledtitled Between Jerusalem and Rome and they presented it to the Holy See. The document pays particular tribute to the Second Vatican Council's Declaration Nostra Aetate, whose fourth chapter represents the "Magna Carta" of the Holy See's dialogue with the Jewish world. The Statement Between Jerusalem and Rome does not hide the theological differences that exist between the two faith traditions whilebut all the same, it expresses a firm resolve to collaborate more closely, both now and in the future.
