A little village in the municipality of Flen. Centrally situated {{convert|15| km|0|abbr=on}} (9 miles) from Flen, {{convert|32| km|0|abbr=on}} (20 miles) from Eskilstuna and {{convert|40| km|0|abbr=on}} (25 miles) from Katrineholm and 150 km (93 mi) south-west of Stockholm.

This village, {{convert|150|km|0|abbr=on}} from Stockholm has been a hive of industry until the beginning of the 1990s1990's when the foundry that the village was built around was closed after 350 years (founded 1659). Nowadays the Foundry is a cultural centre and once again a hive of activity.

During their high life in the sixties there were over 1000 employees at the foundry and a few hundred people employed with subsidirial work round and about the foundry.

In the eighties the foundry was purchased by Electrolux, and production switched to producing plates for cookers until they closed in 1990 and the foundry was taken over by some of the employees.The area around the foundry is today still lively, but not the way it was when the foundry was the centre of the village.

Today: The actually foundry is a centre for artists in the area and Hälleforsnäs has become a cultural centre for the whole of Sörmland. There is an outlet for lagera 157,restuarant and during the summer months a gardeningherbal shop is open. There is also a Cheese making company (Jurss Dairy)who produce and sell award-winning cheese on site.
