What do people know about Privoxy? Does it work with all internet browsers? --Anon — Preceding unsigned comment added by 210.50.81.30 (talk • contribs) 13:39, 15 March 2006 (UTC)

:It should work with all sane, decent browsers. --maru (talk) contribs 02:15, 16 March 2006 (UTC)
::It works with any browser that supports proxy's, which is pretty much all of them. Icey 22:42, 7 May 2006 (UTC)

Is this screenshot (of the WinXP commandline showing it logging requests) appropriate? It doesn't really demonstrate how Privoxy works or what it feels like. Maybe a screenshot of the Web-based user interface (available at http://config.privoxy.org/ on a computer running Privoxy) would be more appropriate? --Alex Cohn 19:15, 28 July 2006 (UTC)

I agree. It seems out of context and not terribly appropriate. Elkrunkeroso 21:16, 30 November 2006 (UTC)

:I just installed and that's just what it looks like. Namely, crap. Fatalis 13:54, 25 January 2007 (UTC)

:It works with any browser that supports forwarding to a non-transparent http or https proxies while also maintaining the ability to forward requests to a SOCKS proxy, commonly Tor; so basically all of them. Icey 22:42, 7 May 2006 (UTC) - Cleaned up and clarified by Peter.thoenen (talk) 10:26, 4 March 2015 (UTC)
Irony
Can Privoxy be used to circumvent the GFW without the use of Tor? If not, isn't it ironic that WP autoblocks any editor using Tor. It is a technology that could allow WP to be accessed by over a billion potential users. Edivorce 13:54, 2 December 2006 (UTC)
:You know what else is ironic? I'm writing this answer using Tor. Fatalis 13:14, 25 January 2007 (UTC)

Logo/image request
I don't know if there was previously a logo or a screenshot, but it feels most appropriate to add a logo in the infobox. I cannot find an appropriate picture from Privoxy's site to associate with this article. I understand that Google Images is the last place to look for images, but is there any appropriate image? Thanks for searching for an image in advance. --Longbyte1 (talk) 15:07, 16 June 2011 (UTC) EDIT: Watch out when looking in Google Images, I found a misleading site! --Longbyte1 (talk) 15:12, 16 June 2011 (UTC)

: Used to be, has been lost over the years. A new one needs to be created and added, I may or may not do this Peter.thoenen (talk) 10:26, 4 March 2015 (UTC)
bad link
the link listed as the official site is dead. 68.43.215.81
:This is true. Anyone know what's up? Made a brief check on the Sourceforge page (), but didn't see anything. — SheeEttin {T/C} 22:43, 23 February 2007 (UTC)
::Back up. Link now goes directly to privoxy.org now. — SheeEttin {T/C} 00:41, 28 February 2007 (UTC)
:Sorry about that, we had trouble with the DNS hosting expiring. ZoneEdit were kind enough to restore the service (despite an unpaid bill) as the registrant of privoxy.org seems to have temporarily disappeared :-) Adam Piggott, developer 15:06, 7th March 2007 (UTC)
