I think some of the information can be broken up and taken out of the introduction. For example, instead of discussing in depth all of the different ways to assess CRF, you can briefly mention the different ways in the introduction and then go into greater depth further down the article. I think it's good form to have a section of detail in the body for every topic mentioned in the introduction, and that will help readers find what's important to them in the article.
