Jarrett Keohokalole is a Hawaii Lawmaker and a Democratic member of the Hawai‘i State House of Representatives. He represents the 48th House District, which includes Kāne‘ohe, Kahalu‘u, and Waiāhole.[1] In July 2017, he announced that he will run to represent the 24th District (Kāne‘ohe, Kailua) in the Hawai‘i State Senate. Jarrett is a seventh-generation resident of Kāne‘ohe.[2]

Education

In 2006, Keohokalole received a bachelor's degree in Journalism from the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa. He then obtained a law degree from William S. Richardson School of Law at the University of Hawai‘i in 2013, earning a certificate in Native Hawaiian Law.[3]

Political career

Hawaii State House of Representatives

Keohokalole was first elected in 2014 and was unopposed in the 2016 election.[4] He currently serves as the House Majority Policy Leader and Vice Chair of the committee on Economic Development & Business. He also serves as a member on the committees of Labor & Public Employment (LAB) and Finance (FIN).[5]

Personal Life

In 2010, Jarrett married Kāne‘ohe resident Ku'ulani Miyashiro. Together, they have two children[6].
