Khan was earlier seen in his debut film ''[[Deewana (1992 film)|Deewana]]'' as the secondary male lead after [[Rishi Kapoor]], while ''Chamatkar'' marked his first lead role. This film was one of Shah Rukh Khan and Urmila Matondkar's first films individually. Khan was earlier seen in his debut film Deewana as the secondary male lead after Rishi Kapoor, while Chamatkar marked his first lead role. Interestingly however, they did not pair in any film again together after this one, if you do not include her cameo in Om Shanti Om (2007).
