The Artist

Carlos Alberto Cruz Boix was born in June, 1949, in HaVana, Cuba. He develops different art forms like drawing, painting, ceramics, engraving and graphic design. He does´nt have any academic education, therefore he is considered as a self-taught artist. He was experience professional like sketcher of newspaper Juventud Rebelde, Havana, Cuba. He resides in Paris, France.

Individual Exhibitions

He made the important individual exhibitions, such as Boix at Sala Rubén Martínez Villena, Galería UNEAC, Havana, Cuba, in 1978; Konstfrämjandet, in Stockholm, Sweden at 1979; Boix, in Galleria d’Arte Severgnini, Milan, Italy in 1988 and Boix, Dialogue entre Technocratie et Vaudou, Galerie Art Present, Paris, France in 1979.

Collectives Exhibitions

He participated in shows such as the Salón 70 in Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes, Havana, Cuba; the X Premi Internacional Dibuix Joan Miro, Collegi d’Arquitectes. Catalunya i Balears, Barcelona, Spain; in 1984 he participed in the 1a. Bienal de La Habana,at Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes, Havana, Cuba and in 1995 in the LX Salon de Mai,Musée d’Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris, Paris, FRANCE.

Awars

During his life he has obteined many awards and recognitions like the First Prize in Drawing at the Salón Nacional para Artistas Jóvenes, in Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes, Havana, Cuba, 1971 and the First Prize in Painting at I Salón Nacional de Pintura y Escultura Carlos Enríquez, Centro de Arte, Havana, Cuba, 1980.
