The name Amaimo means a river way, meaning that it is a town filled with many rivers but very unfortunate that there is no single river in Amaimo as the habitant go to the neighoring towns to fetch water. However, Amaimo is the biggest town in Ikeduru local Government before Atta and Uzogba.

It is made up of seven villages and curent has a population of fifty habitants as it continues to attract people from different tribes

Amaimo is Aa town in Imo State, southeastern Nigeria. It is located near the city of Owerri.
