"A Lovely Day Tomorrow" was a one-off single from [[British Sea Power]], only released to shops in the [[Czech Republic]] but available at certain shows and via mail order in the United Kingdom. It is a re-recording of an early b-side by the band but featuring vocals by the lead singer of Ecstasy of St Theresa, Kateøina Winterová. The song deals with the assasination of [[Reinhard Heydrich]] by two [[Czech]] agents during WW2. To celebrate the entry of [[Czech Republic]] into the [[European Union]] it was decided to put out this release as a limited edition of 1942 copies (the year the operation took place). Whilst the original plan had been to teach original vocalist, Hamilton, the Czech language it was thought to be easier to recruit someone else. To celebrate the band played a show at Prague's Rozy theatre and gained a sponsership deal with Budvar beer. B-side "Fakir" is a traditional Czech song. |
