Azov Battalion (Ukrainian: Батальйон «Азов») is a volunteer battalion of territorial defense of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine that is based in Mariupol (i.e. Azov Sea littoral region). The formation was established in 2014 during the Russian invasion of Ukraine initiating multiple pseudo-separatist movements in southern and eastern regions of Ukraine. The formation is temporarily based in Berdyansk.[2]
