Ayman Omar Benarous (born 27 July 2003) is an English professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Bristol City.
Personal Life
Ayman grew up in the Westbury on Trym area of Bristol which helped him earn the nickname among Bristol City fans as the 'Westbury Park Wizzard'. He attended Bristol Free School and was part of a team that won the Bristol Schools Cup in 2017 when he was in year 9.
Club career
A youth product of Bristol City since the age of 6, Benarous signed his first professional contract with the club on 8 February 2021.[2] He made his professional debut with Bristol City on 30 October 2021, coming on as a late substitute in a 2–1 EFL Championship win over Barnsley.,[3] after scoring a hat trick in a U23s game against Watford a few weeks earlier[4]. He made his debut in a 2-1 win against Barnsley on the 30th October 2020, coming on for Tyreeq Bakinson in the 67th minute[5]. This was Bristol City's first home win in 9 months. He made his full debut in in a 1–1 draw at home to Blackburn.[6]
International career
Benarous was born in England to an Algerian father and English mother.[7] He is a youth international for England, having represented the England U17s.[8]
