Bianna Golodryga (born June 15, 1978[1] in Moldova, former Soviet Union) is an American television journalist and co-anchor of the weekend edition of Good Morning America.

Early life and education

Golodryga was born in 1978 to a working class Jewish family in Moldavian SSR.[2][3] In 1980, her family moved to Houston, Texas. She is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, with a degree in Russian/East European & Eurasian studies and a minor in economics.[4] She is fluent in Russian.[4]

Career

Golodryga began her career in television as a producer at CNBC before becoming an on-air correspondent there. Prior to CNBC, she worked in the financial services industry. In 2004, Golodryga was named one of the top journalists under the age of 30.[5] She has been a correspondent for ABC since 2007, and was named the new co-anchor of GMA Weekend in May 2010, following the departure of former co-anchor Kate Snow, who went to work for NBC.[4] Golodryga is also a business correspondent for ABC News.[6]

Personal life

On September 26, 2010,[7] she married Peter R. Orszag, who is of Hungarian Jewish descent,[2] the former Director of the Office of Management and Budget for the Obama Administration. They have one son,[8] Jake Spencer Orszag.[2]
