Biochemical engineering also bioprocess engineering, is a branch of chemical engineering or biological engineering that mainly deals with the design and construction of unit processes that involve biological organisms or organic molecules, such as bioreactors. It has various applications in many areas of interest such as biofuels, food, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, and water treatment processes.[1][2]
