Jim Brakefield (died 2002[1]) was the fifteenth head football coach for the Appalachian State Mountaineers located in the town of Boone in Watauga County, North Carolina from 1971–79.[2] Brakefield also coached the Wofford Terriers located in Spartanburg, South Carolina from 1967–70.
