Jim Brakefield (c. 1919–2002) was an American football player and coach of football and baseball. He served as the head football coach at Wofford College in Spartanburg, South Carolina from 1967 to 1970 and at Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina from 1971 1979, compiling a career college football record of 75–64–4.[3] Brakefield was also the head baseball coach at Wofford from 1954 to 1967.
