Lightyear Entertainment, headquartered in New York City, is a distributor of independent motion pictures on DVD, Video On Demand, as well as a distributor of music and music videos on CD, DVD, and digital distribution.

Lightyear's independent film business in North America is conducted through Vivendi/Universal distribution.[1] After over a decade with Warner Brothers, Lightyear sought out a distributor that would focus on independent films and give more priority to their releases. Lightyear releases an average of two to three films per month through Vivendi Entertainment.[2]

Lightyear's music business in North America is conducted through Caroline/EMI.
