Lanterns On The Lake are a five-piece indie rock band from Newcastle-upon-tyne, United Kingdom. The band is composed of Hazel Wilde, Paul Gregory, Sarah Kemp, Oliver Ketteringham and Andrew Scrogham.

History

Lanterns On The Lake formed in 2007.

They self-released two EPs and a single before signing to the Bella Union record label in December 2010.[1] Soon after the band provided a track for Bella Union's Christmas 10" EP along with new label mates Peter Broderick and Phil Selway.[2]

The band released their debut album Gracious Tide, Take Me Home on 19 September 2011.[3][4][5] The album was recorded by the band in their homes and produced by the bands guitarist Paul Gregory.

Their material is released in Europe by Bella Union and by PIAS in the USA.

Live Performances

The band have played a host of music festivals including End of the Road Festival, Glastonbury Festival,[6] SXSW, and Bestival.

In January 2012 Lanterns On The Lake supported Explosions In The Sky on their UK tour including the O2 Academy, Brixton.[7] The band has also toured with Low, including a performance at the Royal Festival Hall in London [8] and with Yann Tiersen, including a performance at The Roundhouse [9]
