Mourad Aliev is a French amateur boxer. Representing France in the super-heavyweight division, he won a silver medal at the 2019 European Games and secured a place at the 2020 Summer Olympics after winning a gold medal at the 2020 European Qualifying Tournament.[2][3] At the 2020 Summer Olympics, Aliev was disqualified from his quarterfinal bout.[4][5]
Early life and education
Born in Moscow, Russia, and of Azerbaijani descent,[6] Aliev moved to France at the age of six as a political refugee and became a naturalised French citizen at the age of 22.[3]
Career

As soon as the decision was announced in the ring, Aliev had denounced an injustice.[7] Later, the supervisor certified an error in refereeing and said that there is no error on the part of Aliev, but the decision can not be modified.[7] Aliev staged a sit-in protest for an hour,[8][5] after punching the ringside camera operator.[9]
Personal life
His father, Ozer, was also an amateur boxer, representing the USSR.[10]
