Courses at the Zuiderzee
To get from the Olympic Harbor to the courses the 6 & 8 Metre classes had to sail about 8 nautical miles (one way). This also included the passing of a lock.
The map gives an idea of the courses used for the 6 & 8 Metre during the 1928 Olympic sailing event. When the sailors from the 1928 Summer Olympics could return to their venue they would hardly recognize it since most of the water is now reclaimed land.
