Stonewall is a town in Pamlico County, North Carolina, United States. The population was 285 at the 2000 census. It is part of the New Bern, North Carolina Micropolitan Statistical Area.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 2.0 square miles (5.3 km²), of which, 1.7 square miles (4.4 km²) of it is land and 0.4 square miles (0.9 km²) of it (17.65%) is water.

Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.05% of the population.

There were 118 households out of which 28.8% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 50.8% were married couples living together, 12.7% had a female householder with no husband present, and 31.4% were non-families. 27.1% of all households were made up of individuals and 8.5% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.42 and the average family size was 2.96.

In the town the population was spread out with 24.2% under the age of 18, 6.7% from 18 to 24, 25.6% from 25 to 44, 31.2% from 45 to 64, and 12.3% who were 65 years of age or older.
