The Real Housewives of Miami is an American reality television series on Bravo.[1] It is the seventh installment in the network's The Real Housewives franchise and officially premiered on February 22, 2011.

Production history

Season 1- On Wednesday, March 10, 2010, Bravo announced the series (then titled Miami Social Club) had been picked up, and was to be a restructuring of the failed 2009 series, Miami Social. Later, after filming was completed on the series, Bravo chose instead to make it a new extension of the Real Housewives.[2] Bravo announced on February 3, 2011 that the series would premiere later that month; they also announced that the fourth season premiere of The Real Housewives of New York City, originally scheduled for February 15, would be pushed back until April.

Season 2- The Real Housewives of Miami was renewed for a second season, but season one Housewives Larsa Pippen and Cristy Rice will not return.[3] When Bravo officially greenlighted, on February 9, 2012, the return of the series for a second season, Alexia Echevarria was not featured. However, a few months before filming began for the second season, Alexia's son was involved in a car accident, and so her role was reduced to recurring. Four new Housewives joined the cast full-time: Lisa Hochstein, Joanna Krupa, Karent Sierra, and Ana Quincoces. On July 24, 2012, Bravo official announced that the second season of The Real Housewives of Miami would premiere on Thursday, September 13 at 9/8c. The second season reunion was filmed on November 30, 2012 and part one of the reunion aired on December 27, 2012.[4][5][6][7][8]
