== awkward sentence ==

"He was survived by his only daughter, Angela, and by his ex-wife and her mother, Marilyn Horne". It took me a few times reading this and I'm still not sure I get it. If he died and Horne was still his wife at the time of his death, she is NOT his ex-wife. She is his '''widow'''. In addition, it's already clear that Angela is his daughter, so it's not necessary to stipulate, "and her mother, Marilyn Horne". Were he and Horne divorced at the time of his death? This isn't clear at all. The whole sentence is perfectly awful and should say,

"He is survived by his daughter Angela and widow, Marilyn Horne." If in fact Horne and he were still married when he died.
