Duchess of Windsor can't be addressed as "Royal Highness?

Does this trivia really belong in the summary?

she was formally known as the Duchess of Windsor, but was not allowed to share her husband's style of "Royal Highness".

Seriously? Stevenmitchell (talk) 12:07, 19 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, it belongs because it was extremely controversial at the time. As the wife of a British prince, she would have been entitled to princely status. The sovereign made it so she would only be addressed with ducal status. This was seen as a method to keep her outside of the royal family. -- Willthacheerleader18 (talk) 16:52, 2 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

"Wallis Simpson" is incorrect

You need to not just assert something, but mount a case, an argument, for why you believe it be so. Otherwise, you're just wasting your and everybody else's time. -- Jack of Oz [pleasantries] 03:08, 10 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Why the “sic” on Simpson’s quote?

The quote is “Soon I shall be Queen of England”. “Sic” was not included in the referenced citation. Shiggity (talk) 12:40, 20 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Presumably because there has not been a kingdom of England since 1707. Surtsicna (talk) 14:37, 20 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Is there precedent to use “sic” when something is factually but not grammatically incorrect? Shiggity (talk) 02:38, 24 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
