Turkey took part in the Eurovision Song Contest 2006 with Sibel Tüzün. There was no Turkish National Final in 2006. Instead, TRT decided to send Sibel Tüzün to represent Turkey at the Eurovision Song Contest 2006 in Athens with the song "Süper Star" which is written and composed by her. TRT presented the song that Sibel will sing in a special televised press conference, and presented the video clip which involves Sibel wearing a red hat with the Turkish flag on it. The song features a combination of a disco theme with oriental elements.
