Islington North

[edit]

Islington North will maintain its 2019 boundaries at the 2024 general election. Jeremy Corbyn, the former Leader of the Labour Party, has represented the constituency for over 40 years, but was suspended from the party in 2020 following comments made after an inquiry into antisemitism in the party. Although his suspension was lifted in 2022, he was denied readmission to the parliamentary party, and was not permitted to stand as a Labour candidate in the 2024 election. The Labour Party candidate is Praful Nargund, whilst Corbyn is standing as an independent candidate.[1][2]
