Doyle Bright (born September 4, 1961) is an American heavy metal singer and guitarist. He is best known for being the vocalist of the band Rigor Mortis and guitarist of the band Hallows Eve. He is the founder and owner of the band Special Ops Group and currently is a guitarist and lead vocalist for that band.
Early life
Doyle was born in Birmingham, Alabama on September 4, 1961.
Career
Rigor Mortis (1989–1991)
In the March of 1989, Doyle accepted an offer to join the heavy metal band Rigor Mortis.[1] Bright was on the vocals in the EP "Freaks", as well as the album "Rigor Mortis vs. The Earth".[2]
Hallows Eve
Bis zu seinem Einstieg bei Hallows Eve, einer Thrash-Metal-Band aus Atlanta, im Jahr 2007 sind keine Veröffentlichungen mit anderen Bands bekannt.[3] Als Gitarrist spielte er – gemeinsam mit den Gründungsmitgliedern Stacy Andersen (Gesang) und Tommy Stewart (Bass) – das Album "The Neverending Sleep" ein, das er auch als Produzent aufnahm.[4] Es wurde 2008 zuerst im Eigenverlag veröffentlicht, bevor 2016 über das Label Floga Records eine Wiederveröffentlichung erfolgte.
Special Ops Group
Da sich bei Hallows Eve über einen längeren Zeitraum nichts tat und auch keine Konzerte gespielt wurden, suchte Bright ab 2014 Musiker aus Atlanta, um die Band Special Ops Group (SOG) zu gründen, bei der er für Gesang und Lead-Gitarre verantwortlich zeichnet. Zu seinen Mitstreitern gehört u. a. der ehemalige Hallows-Eve-Schlagzeuger Dane Jensen. In Eigenregier nahm die Band 2015 ihr Debütalbum „The Gift Of Aggression“ auf und spielte im gleichen Jahr ihre erste Show auf der Hauptbühne des Full Terror Assault-Festivals (u. a. mit Eyehategod, Misery Index und Obituary). Später unterzeichnete die Band einen Vertrag bei Violent Creek Records, wo 2017 das über Soulfood vertriebene Album „God Complex“ erschien. Auf beiden Alben war Bright komplett für das Songwriting verantwortlich.[5][6][7][8]
