Your draft article, Draft:Tsing Dao Submachine Gun

Hello, Salfanto. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Tsing Dao Submachine Gun".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been deleted. When you plan on working on it further and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. Liz Read! Talk! 02:47, 18 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Introduction to contentious topics

You have recently edited a page related to Eastern Europe or the Balkans, a topic designated as contentious. This standard message is designed as an introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.

A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially-designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced and Wikipedia administrators have special powers in order to reduce disruption to the project.

Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:

  • adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
  • comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
  • follow editorial and behavioural best practice;
  • comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
  • refrain from gaming the system.

Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template. Prolog (talk) 20:51, 3 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

General sanctions

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in Russo-Ukrainian war. Due to past disruption in this topic area, the community has authorised uninvolved administrators to impose contentious topics restrictions—such as editing restrictions, bans, or blocks—on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, expected standards of behaviour, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.

For additional information, please see the guidance on these sanctions. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.

Please note that only extended-confirmed users are allowed to make edits related to the Russo-Ukrainian War (WP:GS/RUSUKR). Additionally, your source failed verification. Sources need to directly support the content being added. Prolog (talk) 20:51, 3 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not add or change content, as you did at OTs-12 Tiss, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. Loafiewa (talk) 17:14, 16 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

It's just an appearance in a video game. Would I have to cite the game's website? Salfanto (talk) 17:23, 16 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
As per MOS:POPCULT, you would have to cite a reliable secondary source. Loafiewa (talk) 17:26, 16 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
ok Salfanto (talk) 17:31, 16 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Can I cite a video of gameplay for OTS-12? Salfanto (talk) 17:34, 19 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
That would be an example of a primary source. Loafiewa (talk) 17:45, 19 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hi. I'll add a source for the owen gun in german hands also known as the Maschinenpistole 752(e). Does this one work?

again sorry for not citing right away Salfanto (talk) 23:50, 5 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not really sure why you'd say that, seeing as you just made a string of unsourced edits. Verifiability is a core content policy - if you are going to add content, it is expected that you also add reliable sources to corroborate it. Loafiewa (talk) 20:14, 6 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

7th Battalion Arei

Hello, 7th Battalion Arei is part of the 253rd Defense Battalion of the 129th Brigade. Its not a separate unit. It was before it joined with the brigade. They use the term battalion, but its strength is unknown. It also makes it strange to have a battalion within a battalion. Most likely they have more freedom, but are administratively attached to 253rd. Your addition to the article should be worded better a little to avoid confusion. Thank you for adding references and improving article. Ceriy (talk) 15:52, 29 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Ok! I'll fix up my article to improve it. Any suggestions on how to improve it? Salfanto (talk) 17:45, 29 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Copying within Wikipedia requires attribution

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from War crimes in the Russian invasion of Ukraine into Georgian Legion (Ukraine). While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. — Diannaa (talk) 00:04, 13 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you. Ill be sure to do that with future edits that require copying Salfanto (talk) 00:48, 13 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

25th CAA large emblem

Is the current image with empty shield a placeholder? Thanks, RadioactiveBoulevardier (talk) 17:22, 24 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

No its the actual current emblem. I got it from the website globalsecurity.org and it's a reliable source for military matters Salfanto (talk) 18:59, 24 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
The consensus at WP:GLOBALSECURITY is that it is not reliable. How do you know their image wasn’t a placeholder? Reverting. RadioactiveBoulevardier (talk) 19:07, 27 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2023 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:54, 28 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Stop icon You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you add unsourced or poorly sourced material to Wikipedia, as you did at M1 carbine. You have been told about the verifiability policy plenty of times now. Continuing to add unsourced claims, conjecture, and OR as you have done at this point can only be viewed as disruption. Loafiewa (talk) 17:45, 29 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The line "On 26 October 1944, in response to the Germans' widespread use of automatic weapons, especially the Sturmgewehr 44 assault rifle, the select-fire M2 carbine was introduced, along with a new 30-round magazine." is taken from the "Selective-fire version" on the M1 carbine article which someone else had added. I added it to the M2 section to try and help give context. I hope that clears things up Salfanto (talk) 17:53, 29 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Not really, verifiability is not conditional, see WP:BURDEN. Loafiewa (talk) 21:28, 29 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited 2nd Light Mechanized Division (France), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Division. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
