In February 2011 I created a page on numerous bands all shared the name "The Enchanters". My goal was to disambiguate and avoid the confusion and mistakes made in identifying and referencing them, even by sources of otherwise strong repute on the subject of American popular music. My original edit can be found [http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Enchanters&oldid=415381504 here]. Two months later, you made a [http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Enchanters&oldid=425445233 rather sweeping edit], wiping out much of my content while providing no direct notification and no explanation in the Talk section.

Upon discovering that edit in November 2011, I [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Enchanters posted on the Talk page] there seeking feedback and guidance. To date there has been no response from anyone on the matter. Please review my notes there and let me know what I did wrong, what I need to do to correct it, and how I can restore the information such that my original intent is achieved, because the current disambiguation page falls far short of the goal. Thank you in advance for your assistance. [[User:Sheepdog69|Sheepdog69]] ([[User talk:Sheepdog69|talk]]) 17:35, 18 November 2012 (UTC)

Thanks for cleaning up P1 so speedily

I wanted to you thank you for nicely organizing the disambig page P1 so quickly after I stuck the cleanup tag on it - it is certainly much easier to navigate now! Back when I was really active doing disambiguation work, Category:Disambiguation_pages_in_need_of_cleanup had hundreds of pages... I just checked it out, and the idea that 10 pages is a backlog is funny to me remembering the past, but really speaks to how well things are being taken care of. So, thanks! -- Natalya 19:43, 18 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

You are most welcome. Disambiguation pages are pretty fun - I hope you continue to enjoy your work with them! -- Natalya

Alexandrovsk

Well, if I knew what else is wrong, I would have fixed it myself :) My main concern is with using the redirects, which is why I wanted someone experienced with dab cleanups to look at that page. Here you can find the discussion that lead to me adding a cleanup tag; please let me know if anything there is unclear.

Also, on an unrelated note, I re-instated the nav template which you removed. While you are correct to have removed it on the MOS grounds, the template on this dab page is not a permanent fixture—once all of its entries are properly converted into set indices, the problem will resolve itself.

I hope this leaves us with no hard feelings towards one another. I do, incidentally, appreciate your attempt to do a cleanup, and you have caught the most obvious problems with that page. Cheers,—Ëzhiki (Igels Hérissonovich Ïzhakoff-Amursky) • (yo?); April 27, 2011; 18:48 (UTC)

No, I don't get bent out of shape easily, especially on DAB pages. There are so many out there to be fixed that I can always move on to something else. I believe I have fixed your problems with the links to redirects. After reading your discussion I agree that the links should be moved from the redirects to the direct links to articles. As far as the nav template is concerned; I don't feel strongly about it one way or another; it is no big problem for me for it to be there. Please take a look at Alexandrovsk again. I think the way it is now should meet everyone's needs. Let me know if you have any other concerns, I'll be happy to help or willing to learn; whichever is called for. Best wishes, JMax (Okay, tell me. What'd I do this time?) 19:53, 27 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation pages

Just wanted to say thanks for all the work you've been doing since you started editing, and you seem to have started on quite neglected areas. Best wishes, Boleyn (talk) 19:28, 27 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks Boleyn! I appreciate your comment. I am still learning, but having fun along the way. Before I moved to South America, I worked in libraries for over 10 years in Oklahoma, USA, so disambiguation pages are great diversion for my OC self while I sit here in my small Amazon Jungle store waiting for customers to come buy pop and snacks from me. At least I'm never bored! Regards, JMax (Okay, tell me. What'd I do this time?) 20:03, 27 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Wow, quite a change! You might also enjoy working on stuff like as well then, it's a similar area but has less people in it. They're both areas where you can do a quick edit here and there between customers. Best wishes, Boleyn (talk) 17:08, 29 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

World Factoring Yearbook

I'm leaving this message as you're listed as a current participant of WikiProject Business. I was informed yesterday that the current World Factoring Yearbook (circa £150) is now free for download as an ebook. It's a matter of filling out this form. I'm not sure if you'll find this useful as a reliable source, but I thought I should let you know that it's freely available online. I apologise in advance if this doesn't interest you! Enchanters

First, thank you for the many contributions and edits to Wikipedia content. Your efforts are appreciated. However, I could use some help understanding why an edit was made to my own contributions, and how my content should be better structured and formatted.

In February 2011 I created a page on numerous bands all sharing the name "The Enchanters". My goal was to disambiguate and avoid the confusion and mistakes made in identifying and referencing them, even by sources of otherwise strong repute on the subject of American popular music. My original edit can be found here. Two months later, you made a rather sweeping edit, wiping out much of my content while providing no direct notification and no explanation in the Talk section.

Upon discovering that edit in November 2011, I posted on the Talk page there seeking feedback and guidance. To date there has been no response from anyone on the matter. Please review my notes there and let me know what I did wrong, what I need to do to correct it, and how I can restore the information such that my original intent is achieved, because the current disambiguation page falls far short of the goal. Thank you in advance for your assistance. Sheepdog69 (talk) 17:35, 18 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
