The Professional Science Master's (PSM) is an a postgraduate academic degree program established by the Council of Graduate Schools that is designed to allow students to pursue advanced education in science including mathematics while receiving training in certain professional skills. Intended as an alternative to more academically focused doctoral programs, PSM programs consist of two years of academic study in a designated science discipline, as well as a professional component that provides a fundamental education in professional fields such as business or law. The program has been developed in concert with industry and universities in the United States[1].
