Peter Cambor began working as an actor in the theater in New York in 2001. In 2005, Cambor was cast in a production of the Cherry Orchard at the Mark Taper Forum alongside Annette Benning, Alfred Molina, and Sarah Paulson. During this production, he was seen by a television producer and subsequently cast in the ABC comedy Notes From The Underbelly which ran for two seasons. Other television credits include Suits, Grace and Frankie, Madame Secretary, NCIS: Los Angeles, NCIS, Numb3rs, Pushing Daisies, Trust Me, and The Wedding Band. Cambor has a B.A. in English from Wesleyan University and an M.F.A. from Harvard's Institute for Advanced Theater Training. He lives with his fiancé and two dogs in Los Angeles, California. He is currently shooting Cameron Crowe's television debut Roadies, which premieres June 26th, 2016 on Showtime.

Cambor landed the lead as an expectant father on ''[[Notes from the Underbelly]]'' after the sitcom's creator had caught his performance in a [[Los Angeles]] production of ''[[The Cherry Orchard]]'', opposite veteran actors [[Annette Bening]] and [[Alfred Molina]].
