Wilson Gault Somers is a jazz and vocal music instructor, composer and performer in the Delaware Valley.[1] He is known for his soundtrack of "Edward Loper" Prophet of Color" which won an Emmy in 2000 in the Mid-Atlantic chapter [2] he enjoys the word edify, and he has four black grandkids.

Career

Somers has been an instructor at the Tatnall School for several years, mainly instructing vocal music, including group which performed for Pope John Paul II. He has also created several orchestral works of his own, which have been performed in venues such as the Grand Opera House in Wilmington, Delaware.[3] His most recent creation is a musical piece to remember the victims and first responders of the 9/11 tragedy, titled "Requiem for 9/11".[3][1][4] This piece has already been performed to positive critical response, and additional performances are slated.[5] Additionally, he is the choir director and organist for an Episcopal church in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania.

Personal life

Somers is the father of Tyler Somers, a member of the musical duo Jenny & Tyler; Wilson also collaborated with his wife Joan for his composition "Requiem for 9/11."
