Lack of notability on draft of Don't Even Think

Hello! I'm pretty new to wikipedia, so, I'm sorry if I messed up the review section for my article! In my initial research, finding reviews for this game seemed to be difficult- a tleast in terms of pin pointing an english based official editorial. A lot of users shared their opinions on youtube, reddit, and a few independent places.

I'm not quite sure where to go from here in terms of notability, besides trying to source official editorials from websites in China or Japan. Do you think that might be a good direction? -- Xalsier (talk) 00:35, 1 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, not a problem at all! I apologise if the administrative aspects of Wikipedia around deletion can be a bit cold, it's clear you put a lot of work into it. WP:NONENG sources are definitely good and if you can find a few reviews in print or from clearly reliable sources that aren't in English, that may help a lot. For future reference with notability, it can help to scope out the sourcing before starting an article to make sure the cart isn't before the proverbial horse! Gridiron! GA

Hey Vrxces! Long time no talk/see! Its been a while since I've seen you on Wikipedia. I'd recently taken a short break, but have gotten back on track. I've decided to take a step further into Wikipedia.

I am planning on submitting an application to Wikipedia:WikiProject Articles for creation. I had submitted an application a while ago, without any experience, which was obviously on me, but now, I think I'm ready, but, I still can't assure that. So I came to you. From the time I've known you, you've been helping me at stop signs, telling me what's wrong in my articles. Could you check my stats (xtools, pages made, logs, afd, contributions) and tell me if you think my work and experience could get my application accepted? Hello! Creating an article through the AfC process is really on a case-by-case basis, regardless of the experience of the editor. For WP:VG articles, the rule of thumb that seems to be in vogue right now for an article about a video game to be notable enough to pass AfC is for it to have significant coverage from three reviews from sources that are generally considered reliable against the list on WP:VG/S. To find these sources, I tend to use Metacritic, Mobygames and the text search of the Internet Archive in that order. The three reviews must generally critically evaluate the game and not just describe them. If that sounds doable for your AfC candidate, I think you'll be fine! Happy to take a look too. Thanks for making some improvements to the article! The problem with HSH is that an entire section is largely sourced from a developer diary in the software that appears once you complete the game. So the software itself becomes a major source for a section in the article. I'm not quite sure how to address this speedbump other than providing a reviewer with the text from the completed game but there's no harm in us nominating and seeing what happens I guess! And just to clear the confusion with Grimace's Birthday, it doesn't really matter who nominates if they're a significant contributor, Wikipedia is collaborative after all, but generally the nominator is expected to be the one to action the comments (co-nominations are very rare) as they get the "credit" in the system for successfully bringing the article to GA. Hey Vrxces! I wrote the page on Marvel Rivals which you can check out by the way its really cool. I saw it had a new language, Spanish. I checked it out for some reason. I used the automatic google translate thing where it translates the whole page. I realized the whole page had been translated from mine. Is this normal or not? Thoughts? This is a common misconception: under WP:COPYRIGHT, the content of Wikipedia is freely licensed by the site and its users for others to use, reproduce and edit so long as it's attributed. Because the Spanish Wikipedia is the same entity granting the license, there's no issue. You may also like to check WP:OWN which is about the fact that no user really 'owns' the content of an article as a collaborative project. This may seem a bit strange, but this also means you can benefit from it the other way round: if an article in another language exists for one that doesn't for the English Wikipedia, or has more details, you can directly use or adapt them to use here!
