Speedy deletion and one inline ref

[edit]

I've tagged this article for a speedy deletion. It relies on one inline citation and its notability is questionable at best. I can only find 1 or 2 mention of this organisation. Perhaps its too soon.A Bartenders Vegs (talk) 13:27, 25 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

EDIT - This article has been PRODED by Malik Shabazz. Thanks Malik. I have also looked at the corresponding Portuguese article. That one is even worst. It only has 1 source since it was created couple of years ago. A Bartenders Vegs (talk) 14:23, 25 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I object to the deletion of the article, since there has been no discussion about its notability or quality and it doesn't meet any of the criteria, not even WP:A7, since this article does contain citations which, at the very least, strongly suggest that the FUG is notable. Even a simple Google search turns up numerous references to this party, so I can't figure out how A Bartenders Vegs only found "1 or 2 mentions." Also, I refer him to WP:TIND - there is no rush to "complete" an article about a political party that ceased to exist 70 years ago. Eladynnus (talk) 02:50, 27 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I should also mention that I had begun to add to the article again before going on vacation last week, and any prudent editor could tell that it was a work in progress rather than something meriting deletion. Eladynnus (talk) 03:16, 27 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Well, maybe the article was not considered important enough to attract more editors when you created it in 2011. I can see sources in Google books under ""Frente Única Gaúcha" but only 4 under "Gaúcho United Front", one of which may be considered notable, the other two are snippets and one is about women's "beauty and wellness". Anyway as you have removed the PROD tag there is no issue other than adding reliable sources. A Bartenders Vegs (talk) 20:40, 27 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Page moved without consensus

[edit]

Eladynnus moved the page Gaucho United Front to Gaúcho United Front citing "proper spelling" [1] This is English Wiki (not Portuguese) and we use English spelling here especially when people want to search for articles in the search box. Other than the speedy deletion above, this is also an issue. A Bartenders Vegs (talk) 13:52, 25 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Gaúcho is the demonym referring to people from Rio Grande do Sul, not "gaucho," which is also the standard spelling in English-language texts. In any case, A Bartenders Vegs complaint about people not being able to find the article is spurious since Gaucho United Front redirects to this page. Eladynnus (talk) 02:59, 27 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Well, as stated above I can only find 4 references to the name "Gaúcho United Front" in Google books [2], two of which are snippets, and one is invisible and mainly about women's "beauty and wellness" which led me to believe that perhaps this article is too soon. However there are loads of sources under "Frente Única Gaúcha", not under "Gaúcho United Front". A Bartenders Vegs (talk) 20:39, 27 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion

[edit]

The single source tag was added to this page by a user who was harassing me and several other Wikipedia editors in the early 2010s, not by someone acting in good faith.
