- Propose deleting Category:Duchesses of Girona
- Propose deleting Category:Dukes of Girona
- Propose deleting Category:Princesses of Girona

- Propose deleting Category:Duchesses of Montblanc
- Nominator's rationale: delete per WP:NONDEF, these are merely subsidiary titles of the crown princes and crown princesses of Aragon and Spain respectively. This is follow-up on this earlier discussion. Marcocapelle (talk) 16:43, 21 September 2019 (UTC)
- Delete leads to overcategorization. Lists may work, but not clutter causing categories.John Pack Lambert (talk) 06:30, 22 September 2019 (UTC)
- Oppose Most subsidiary titles have had their own histories and users. Dimadick (talk) 16:53, 22 September 2019 (UTC)
- Not any of these ones, the titles were specifically created by Peter IV of Aragon for crown princes. Marcocapelle (talk) 17:00, 22 September 2019 (UTC)
- Delete -- Categorising subsidiary titles does not help: it is a waste of space. If the titles did have a separate earlier history, the appropriate course would be to purge the people using the subsidiary title replacing it with a subcat or a see also item. Category:Vice-Chancellors by university
[edit]- The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more categories. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the category's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
- The result of the discussion was: merge to Category:Heads of universities and colleges. There is a rough consensus for merging/deleting this category, especially when considering the outcome of related discussions. There was also an alternative proposal to repurpose the category, however this did not reach a consensus. If a category for executive/ceremonial roles is desired please start another discussion. (non-admin closure) ‑‑Trialpears (talk) 23:39, 3 December 2019 (UTC)
- Nominator's rationale: Essentially a subcategory of Category:Heads of universities and colleges, but an intermediate category based on title isnt helpful. We dont have similar categories for Rectors, Provosts etc. and its hard to see why anyone would want them. Rathfelder (talk) 14:15, 9 September 2019 (UTC)
- Support per nom,
but shouldn't the West Indies subcat be moved somewhere else, if only directly under Category:Heads of universities and colleges?Marcocapelle (talk) 02:21, 10 September 2019 (UTC)
- The West Indies subcat is already part of Category:Heads of universities in Jamaica so there is no merge needed at all. Marcocapelle (talk) 14:47, 22 September 2019 (UTC)
- Merge to Category:Heads of universities and colleges to ensure that appropriate parenting is not lost. Peterkingiron (talk) 11:40, 12 September 2019 (UTC)
- Oppose - It makes sense to me to keep an intermediate level under Category:Heads of universities and colleges by actual title, as Vice-chancellors categories actually seem to be restricted to actual vice-chancellors (while university chancellor or president categories are currently catch-all of any leadership office). It is a legitimate subcategory of Vice offices. Also note that this was discussed in CfD. Place Clichy (talk) 10:09, 13 September 2019 (UTC)
- There are large numbers of categories of articles about posts similar to Vice-chancellors but with other titles - Rector, President, Provost etc. It doesnt make sense to categorise them by title. Rathfelder (talk) 20:12, 13 September 2019 (UTC)
- Procedural comment - This discussion should probably have a grouped outcome with CfD Sep 8#Category:University and college vice-chancellors and CfD Sep 8#Category:University and college vice-chancellors by country. Place Clichy (talk) 10:09, 13 September 2019 (UTC)
- Merge to Category:Heads of universities and colleges. Just to make things fun, if I understand everything right, there are some United States universities that have a chancellor whose position is the same as a vice chancellor in other places. We categorize by shared thing, not shared name.John Pack Lambert (talk) 03:51, 15 September 2019 (UTC)

- Comment, merging is for the larger part unnecessary, because the country subcats are already contained in the continent categories within the tree of Category:Heads of universities and colleges. The only exception, as noted before, is the West Indies subcat. Marcocapelle (talk) 13:26, 21 September 2019 (UTC)
- All the West Indies articles can now sit happily in Category:Heads of the University of the West Indies. As far as I know the UWI is the only university in the West Indies. Rathfelder (talk) 19:11, 21 September 2019 (UTC)
- The West Indies subcat is already part of Category:Heads of universities in Jamaica so there is no merge needed at all. Marcocapelle (talk) 14:47, 22 September 2019 (UTC)
- Delete as opposed to the heads of cat, this ends up being a categorization by shared name.John Pack Lambert (talk) 06:31, 22 September 2019 (UTC)
- Comment -- In UK and many Commonwealth countries the Vice-Chancellor is the executive head of the university, but there is also a Chancellor who is a non-executive ceremonial head, who in some cases (having political influence) may be able to support the university. In other cases the Chancellor may purely have a titlular role. On reflection I would prefer a rename to Category:Executive heads of universities and colleges. This may mean that Category:Heads of universities and colleges needs purging into that one. Peterkingiron (talk) 17:32, 22 September 2019 (UTC)
- Comment -- I would suggest keeping a subcategory for ceremonial chancellors within Category:Heads of universities and colleges, but I don't think vice chancellors are distinctive enough to need their own category. TSventon (talk) 12:23, 23 September 2019 (UTC)

[edit]- The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more categories. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the category's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
- The result of the discussion was: rename. MER-C 10:47, 29 September 2019 (UTC)
- Nominator's rationale: Only 1 article Rathfelder (talk) 08:17, 21 September 2019 (UTC)
- Alt merge to both parent categories. (The point is not that they are selling online, instead they are providing services to facilitate online advertising.) Marcocapelle (talk) 08:51, 21 September 2019 (UTC)
- Revised proposal - rename it Category:Digital marketing companies of India. Found at least one more article. Rathfelder (talk) 14:00, 25 September 2019 (UTC)
I still think that merging makes more sense, but if kept thensupport this rename per WP:C2C. Marcocapelle (talk) 02:51, 26 September 2019 (UTC)

- Propose merging Category:New economy to Category:Economies
- Nominator's rationale: Not sufficiently substantial to form the basis of a category. Only 3 articles, one eponymous. Rathfelder (talk) 08:00, 21 September 2019 (UTC)
