Borrowed from Arabic يَهُودِيّ (yahūdiyy), from Hebrew יהודי (yehudí). Cognate with Assamese ইহুদী (ihudi), Bengali ইহুদি (ihudi), Nepali यंहुदि (yaṅhudi), Gujarati યહૂદી (yahūdī), Punjabi ਯਹੂਦੀ (yahūdī), Urdu یہودی (ehodī).
