Noryang: Jugeumui Bada (2023)
again, Korean distorting the History
I believe there are inaccuracies in many Korean historical movies as they often portray events in a way that may not align with historical facts. This movie again proves my point because it is misleading and does not represent the actual history. It is essential to acknowledge that during the invasion, Korea was in a vulnerable position and relied on China for support. Japan most likely would defeat Korea without China's navy. While stating this, I understand that sharing these views might provoke adverse reactions from some individuals. However, it is crucial to realize that distorting historical events will not change the reality of the past.
Besides the historical inaccuracy, this movie is slow and puts me to sleep. I was only awakened by the battle scene. I would not recommend this work to any historical movie lovers.

A Taiwanese masterpiece
I learned about this show from my Taiwanese friend, and I'm glad I watched it. Many time-traveling plot has big loopholes, but not "someday or one day". The story plot is reasonable and makes sense. I am impressed by this TAIWANESE show. NOT Thailand, TAIWANESE. You have to pay attention when you watch this show because the storyline is nothing like other time-traveling stories. This show gives you romance, friendships, family love, and a thrilling mystery to solve. Although some part is a bit slow, and I wanted to fast forward, when you stay patient to rewatch it, it always means something. The clues are hidden in the story.
The songs in this show are also very nice. The ML and FL actings are also outstanding. There is nothing I don't like about this drama. I highly recommend it.

A failed adaption of the Taiwanese drama "Someday or One Day"
This is a South Korean adaption of a very popular Taiwanese drama, "Someday or One Day/Dying to See You." I was looking forward to the remake. Unfortunately, it is a failure. I cannot take this remake serious due to the below reasons. I will compare the original Taiwanese drama "Someday or One Day" v.s. This Korean adaption FYI:
1. Silly copycat without proper adjustments: "Someday or One Day" is a story in a small town in Taiwan's subtropical climate, where the summer is hot with afternoon thunderstorms, "A Time Called You" Korean climate is nothing like Taiwan, yet, Korean copycat the subtropical climate without proper adjustment, so the students wear Summer uniforms in Chill March when the cherry blossom is at the peak(seriously?) Taiwanese high schoolers ride motorbikes to school, while Koreans don't do that. Yet, the Korean adaption copycats these scenes that never happened in Korea. Not to mention the school whiteboards that were not used in the 90s. And a small-town high school becomes an expensive private school in Korean drama (what a typical K-romance setting, boring!).
2. Delete really meaningful things. E.g. The original 1st ML didn't do well at school, but he studied hard and tried over and over when he quietly waited for the FL over the years and got himself into the same prestigious university as the FL just to see her. That persistent love was removed in the Korean
adaption. Although this remake stays true to the original story, it deletes many meaningful scenes that draw you into the mystery, the friendship, and the family love while you experience romance. This Korean remake has a more straightforward vibe than the very mysterious Taiwanese "Someday or One Day."
3. This adaption makes the reason why time traveling happens not as logical. And the gay love part storyline is altered for the worse and meaningless. This adaptation also removed the most meaningful and biggest twist that shocked you in the original plot.
4. The song that allows the FL time travel because it's the song of the ML and FL's happiest memories at the concert in the 90s. And walkie-talkie represents the 90s. Korean adaption doesn't pick as memorable a song as the Taiwanese soft rock song "Last Dance." So, the key to why the characters can leap into time travel becomes ambiguous in this Korean adaption.
5. Korean adaption 1st ML and 2nd ML characters are too alike and hard to distinguish, unlike Taiwanese drama. The original 1st ML has a very bright, optimistic, and bubbling personality that is VERY different from the 2nd ML. Korean adaption lost that 1st ML's charisma.
6. The Korean director misses the romantic moment in the rain when the ML falls in love with the FL. (In the Korean version, the ML looks like he wants to kill the FL, and FL doesn't look charming at all in that specific rain scene, while the Taiwanese original can make you say, "Ah, I totally get it.")
7. When the ML aged, Korean adaption made the 1st ML look like a loser, a beggar, and a total failure. The original Taiwanese drama showed the ML's maturity with a clean cut and a dashing look because the ML looks forward to seeing the FL again anytime, so he wanted to show his best by always looking nice. However, the ML's personality in the Taiwanese version is no longer bright and bubbling. Instead, he is sadder, and you see his deep sorrows because of the accident and how he cannot unite with the FL. You don't have to show one's misery or misfortune by making them look poor or dirty. Taiwanese ML actor shows his character's personality change, pain, and loneliness through excellent acting, not some cheesy makeup.
8. Korean adaption adds too many unnecessary roles and somewhat loses track of the main storyline while deleting many of the most meaningful scenes.
9. There are many suspension elements in Taiwanese"someday or one day," which drew me into the show and tried to solve the mystery with all the clues and puzzles. Korean adaption is very dull compared to "someday or one day." due to the fact they deleted some great twists.
10. Korean adaption is missing that unique touch that can stir your emotions, while the Taiwanese "Someday or One Day" storyline is unique and full of chemistry and soul.
11. Taiwanese "Someday or One Day" quickly draws viewers into the ML and FL's deep love for each other, and the acting makes you emotional and fully understand why they are dying to see each other, and you feel for them. But Korean adaption only scratches the surface that I just can't feel that touching emotion like when I watched "Someday or One Day."
12. Acting performance: The main actor and actress have to play 4 different personalities throughout the story. It's quite challenging for the main actors and actress. Compare the Korean adaption and Taiwanese original drama. I think the Taiwanese leading actor and actress did the best acting jobs, while the Korean leading actress is also good. But Korean 1st ML is a disappointment. He lacks good acting. Maybe that's another reason Korean adaption is dull.
13. The Korean adaption screenplay writer and director don't get the core meaning of the original version: "Fated love-- I will do whatever it takes to see you again. But ONLY when you want to see me too"; the leading actor can't act to show this story's fated love. This Korean remake misses so many critical moments and the unique vibes that made the original Taiwanese show popular.
14. Ending: Korean adaption is like a typical romance formula without creativity. The Taiwanese version ending is different. Not BE nor HE. It's just different and will keep your emotions lingering for a long time afterward.
If you like time-traveling shows, like to solve mysteries, want to know what's great acting, want to feel what fated true love is, and want to cry with the characters. I would recommend watching "Someday or One Day" directly and skipping this adaption.
But if you prefer straightforward and don't care for the deep meaning of love and like an effortless vibe, then you might like "A Time Called You." more.
The Purge (2013)
Purge the writer!
Just simple stupidity with so many stupid plots and settings. So Unrealistic to a point that makes me laugh. The whole setting is so ridiculous that I can't believe this movie exists. It's also such a propaganda that rich Caucasians are hunting down a homeless black?why always such settings? Just no race settings at all okay? I'm an Asian female and I get really annoyed at this stereotypes. Well, when the target points a gun at the head of the "persistent school uniform" daughter, he is no longer a victim. So the movie wants to talk about morals? Well. The purge itself is already immoral, so why discussing about morals? I can't stand this movie so I had to walk away after 25 minutes. I'm surprised my husband picked such a stupid movie for our date night. Yuck! I could give this movie minus stars if there is this option.
Resident Evil (2022)
This is NOT resident evil
We quit watching it after 25 minutes. Nothing resident evil but very boring plot. CGI looks fake. This is just a show using the title "resident evil" to lure people in. I had high hope for this show but well, it's totally disappointing.
Blackhat (2015)
Very confusing and poorly organized
I watched this on Netflix, thanks God I didn't waste my money watching it in the theater. I think this is a very failed movie. I thought it was directed by some freshman director who just start directing so kind of amateur. But NO!! Surprisely, from the director, screenplay, to acting cast are big and experienced players in the movie industry. How did this happen? I believe the director is quite confused himself because this movie is very disorganized. The confusing issues caused by all the different filming locations and languages could be easily fixed if there is some capital subtitle to tell the audiences where they are now in what languages when the characters move from one country to another. James Bond movie- no time to die were filmed in different locations as well but that director did an awesome job to make audiences clearly follow the story without being confused like blackhat. Too bad, this could be a masterpiece if it is done correctly.
Don't Look Up (2021)
Yes. Stupid politicians and corporations are ruining this world
Such a witty and sarcastic plot that truly reflects what is going so wrong now. Stupid politicians controlled by big corporations are ruining the USA in reality and because of USA's role in the world, it could lead to a disaster like this movie. So sarcastic that crack me up while makes me so angry and sad. However, I believe in reality, when USA was making decisions by sociapath then lead mother earth to her end, when Russia fails too, I think China would not just sit and watch. China, with their own airspace station and similar technology, will definitely jump in to break the threat and very possible with the support from EU. Most importantly, China don't have elected(installed) politicians that controlled by corporations, so if in reality, the USA politicians will not be able to screw us up as much because the world is most likely to be saved by EU+Russia+China in the end.
A Quiet Place Part II (2020)
Silly screeplsy
There are too many loopholes and too many silly plots that doesn't make sense and will never be like this if it happens in real life in the screenplay. Actors and actress are good but the screenplay is so silly that cracks me up. Well, people who like this movie obviously did not bring their brain in when they watch this silly story.
Tian Xun Zhe (2020)
Getting worse and worse
The storyline is getting worse and so predictable. Too slow and so many unnecessary parts that should be edited out. So far episode 1 is the best, this series might be much better if the production team planned 6-8 episodes instead of 20. Can't continue following.
Baekilui Nanggoonnim (2018)
Great storytelling and acting
This show is great. I just wish one more episode to show the couples's wedding and the prince becomes the king. Have children and be loved by their people. The real happily ever after.
The King: Youngwonui Gunjoo (2020)
Exceeded my high expectations. Amazing plot
Such a very well-written storyline. It's a mysterious thriller in the beginning episodes which made you think over and over, just wanna try to solve all the clues, then it turned to comedies, all the clues later on revealed one after one with unforgettable romance. The screenplay writer Kim is also the writer of The goblin: the lonely and great God. She is truly amazing. She outdone herself. Highly recommend this show if you like a combination of mysterious, romantic, and hilarious love story. The OST are also very good. Now I'm becoming a fan of K-drama because of Kim's stories.
Wo he wo de si ge nan ren (2017)
Very well-written comedy with romance, family and friendship
This show cracked me up, it's hilarious, all the actors/actress performed well. I'm in love with the leading actor Jacob Hwang after watching his good acting. The storyline is a great combination of different kind of LOVE --romance, family, friendship and coworkers. It can be a story happened in our lives, at least to me, the hilarious yet heartwarming interaction between the leading actor and actress in this show reminds me of myself with my husband, and choosing between 2 great men. Highly recommend if you like this kind of warm yet funny story.
Terminator: Dark Fate (2019)
An empty storyline movie based on political agenda
This movie is an insult to the original terminators. Empty storyline built up on political agendas. Why can't Hollywood just produce a movie without forcing political agenda onto the audiences? This movie is just a combination of special effects. It's insulting to the original terminators and to us- the audiences' IQ.
1917 (2019)
What a disappointment. BORING as hell.
If you have patience to sit in a theater for a long, slow, meaningless dialogue movie, then this is your type. If you expect to see a movie with war scenes, the don't waste your time nor money. This is a very slow and boring movie, probably the worst war movie we ever seen, we just can't wait for it to end.
Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark (2019)
A great scary movie
I never read the books, so this movie is great for me. Great stories with many mysterious storylines, good scares here and there. I and my husband were screaming during some scenes. It's not gross and won't give you nightmares afterwards. We enjoyed it a lot. If all actors/actress are good, we will give this movie a 10-star, 1 star off because of some bad acting.
Fractured (2019)
So many twisted plot. Great movie.
You can guess but you will never guess it 100% right! What a great movie! LOVE it!!
Spectral (2016)
I love this movie
The storyline is new, creative, very entertaining. We love this movie, just as good as or even better than some big budget movies.
Dang kou feng yun (2017)
Historical accurate and entertaining movie
It is a great movie, accurately telling the history between Japan and China in Ming dynasty. I especially love the 1-1 fight scene of General Qi and Commander Kumasawa and the languages were spoken in both Mandarin and Japanese. It also showed the characters of Chinese and Japanese. If you know nothing about the history, you might get bored, but you will enjoy this movie very much if you know a little bit of the story.
American Horror Story: Election Night (2017)
It's a joke
So bad that I can't believe they made this into a show. I wonder, is the producer trying to quit this show in such a unique way. I don't see there will be a season 8.
