- TriviaThe original cut of the movie ran over 5 hours.
- GoofsThe Japanese bomber pilot says to open bomb bay doors. Shots of the plane's exterior show bombs attached directly to the fuselage and no bomb bay doors to open. The Japanese bombers have internal bomb bays which needed to be opened and bombs carried externally.
- Alternate versionsThe US release, re-titled "Air Strike", is cut by 25 minutes from the original 121-minute Chinese version. It also dubs all the Chinese language sections of the film. REVIEW - THE BOMBING (AIR STRIKE)
I love Chinese cinema, because even though the stories may be simple the action is usually none stop and this film set during the second world war is the same, the CGI aerial dog fight scenes are absolutely stunning but.......
A collaboration between Hollywood and Chinese cinema has brought you possibly Bruce Willis's worst film EVER!
Again we see Bruce at his worst and I can only imagine how much he was getting paid for this because in every scene he is in it is memorable for one reason, the reason being you just want to skip him forward to return to the stunning scenery, effects and the CGI dog fights.
Chinese cinema is famous for going big and in this story of 5 people trying to transport a piece of equipment through China whilst having every Japanese plane dropping bombs on and around them is at times quite enjoyable but if you can put up with a terrible script, dubbed actors and of course Bruce then give it a try and just enjoy the scenery, special effects and the dog fights otherwise avoid like you would a bomb being dropped on your head from a great height.
Yes you've guessed it, money equals Bruce Willis in his worst film ever!
I hope he's not this bad in Glass.
